Dancing Feat – Chapters 18 and 19

Cali. Wow. How’ve you been?

Cali

There’s a bit of a celebration going on. Not a huge one. Just a bit of one.

So here are the various different tracks I was inspired by or danced to in the clausura:

Bachata: Por Un Segundo by Aventura. Aventura are still upset about something, almost certainly love-related.

Salsa: La Rebelion by Joe Arroyo. Embedding disabled for some reason, so you’ll have to click here instead.

Merengue: Mi Niña Bonita by Chino & Nacho. It’s not proper merengue, but it served the purpose.

Champeta: La Mala Hierba by Nando Hernandez

The video, set on the walls of Cartagena, that was the inspiration for my champeta moves has been deleted from YouTube unfortunately – boo!

Guaneña: This is the definitive track of La Guaneña. It’s not the track I danced to, but I can’t find that so this will have to do. With the added bonus of a smoking Galeras volcano in the background.

“Guay que sí, guay que no. La Guaneña me engañó”

I don’t have the joropo track unfortunately.

Cumbia: El Rey De La Cumbia by Son Cartagena.
I AM THE KING OF CUMBIA. Or at the very least the court jester.

Mapale: Here’s that mapale favourite: El Mapale by Cumbia Soledeña.
