Some shots from La Ciudad Perdida – The Lost City.
It was here that Michael Fabricant MP had his unfortunate incident with the coffee whitener.
And this is Santa Marta, one-third of the triumvirate of coastal cities. I found it a very likeable place.
The nearby Tayrona National Natural Park – leave only footprints. If you look closely, one of the two people appears to have backwards feet.
It’s cumbia time again as I head back the town of Cienaga, meaning swamp. La Cumbia Cienaguera is yet another famous cumbia, this time by Aniceto Molina
And here’s Shakira doing her own impromptu version (after the Pink Panther, that is)
So this is Tolu, by day and by night:
And here are the traditional, float-based religious festivities. Excuse my rubbish video-recording abilities:
And here is the super laid-back San Antero, home of the Donkey Festival.
But I know that what you really want to see is a selection of beautiful asses, so here you go.
Here’s some live action I captured whilst I was there:
And here’s the after party:
And just in case you thought I was on the wind-up regarding the donkey business, here is the VICE documentary ASSES OF THE CARIBBEAN. You need to be 18 years old to watch it. Which probably tells you enough on it’s own.
The mud volcano in San Antero. Nice day for it…
And one last piece of madness, the man-climbs-a-pole-whilst-women-shell-chipi-chipi event. As one friend put it to me when I told her about it “Las cosas que pasan en mi pais!” (The things that happen in my country!)
