Dancing Feat – Chapters 1 and 2

In the book I mention Big Black’s Colombian Necktie. You can listen to it here, but don’t expect an intellectual discussion of Colombian politics. I don’t think it’s really anything to do with it.

Here are the beautiful (and, by night, extremely dodgy) colonial streets of La Candelaria, in the heart of Bogotá.

And this is Bogotá’s famous Plaza de Bolívar, with the Christmas tree still in place.

Tamal and coffee for breakfast. Note the little red straw that they give you to stir it with. I don’t know why that do that, but it’s common. Also note the mess of coffee stains on my cup. I don’t know why I do that, but it’s common.

But Bogotá isn’t all elegant and faded grandeur. Here are some random shots of the downtown.
